Hello again, LIGHT! Summer is over, and school is here. But, we’ve still got a lot of fun activities planned for the youth!

One of the fun events that the youth group has planned for this the beginning of the school year is our youth retreat; this will take the place of the trip to Siloam Springs for church camp that we used to go on in June. We will have lots of fun games to play and some really cool activities; we’ll also be having some exciting devotions, in which we will take a more in-depth look at some of God’s word to find out what it means to us as Christians.

One reason we chose a retreat is because everyone needs a time where they can get away from all of the stresses that the world has put on us and to find a place where we can be alone and talk with God. A retreat does just this, as it allows all of us to get away from our jobs and from school and the stress that these bring; it gives us a chance to get closer to God and spend more time with Him.

But, just so you know, to get away from the stresses of life you don’t have to go on a retreat; you can go to your room and close the door, sit in the closet, sit under a tree, or whatever you need to do to be by yourself. When you find this place, sit quietly and listen for God or pray to God for guidance in your life.

Since we are going on a retreat, we can all do this together as a youth group! We’ll have lots of fun as we delve into God’s Word and celebrate the world He created for us! That is what this retreat will be all about: learning what God wants us to do with our lives and in our lives. Of course, it will be also about having good Christian fun with everyone around us. What more could we ask for? J
